Advanced degree options
M.S. Engineering Science
Thesis option
  • Course work requirements: 24 semester hours
  • Thesis: with a minimum of 6 semester hours granted for its completion
  • Final oral defense examination
M.S. Engineering Science
Non-thesis option
  • Course work requirements: 27 semester hours
  • Design or research Project: 3 semester hours
  • Final comprehensive examination
Ph.D. Engineering Science

 

  • Course work requirements: 30 semester hours and 12 hours of pre-dissertation research – beyond the M.S. requirements
  • Graduate record examination: 1000 composite score (verbal plus quantitative)
  • Comprehensive exam: written and oral
  • Dissertation: with a minimum of 18 semester hours granted for its completion
  • Final doctoral oral examination

We are looking for a strong academic background in the engineering sciences or related fields. An overall B average in undergraduate course work taken at Ole Miss or other approved colleges is required.
